I guess you might have received similar mails. I wonder who would be sending this and why? It cannot be system generated, can it be? I also wonder who could be replying to it and what happens then! If this is some kind of business model, then how does it work? Sounds like a good plot for a movie, but I surely do not want to be the experimenting character. I am pasting the latest of such mails I received, and pasting it verbatim.

Hey Hari , I know these emails are Known as Nigerian scam mails in the UK. Investigations here have shown that this is done by some terrorist and Drug lords based in Africa, mainly Nigeria.
The modus oprendi is simple, they send these emails to just about everybody then they wait for a respoce. Once a responce comes through they know that it is a valid email id and a victim is at hand !
Next step - they contact you and tell you that you will need to shell out few lacs to get some paperwork sorted out for the funds transfer. They do not ask for a big sum at one go but in stages of small amounts like Rs 500000.
Indian express reported that a business man in Bangalore lost 12 lacs !!!(Not the brigtest guy).
These scams are also known as Lottery scams by the way , just content differs but method remains the same.
