Happiness is only real when shared!

We are quite happy a lot of times in life. Reasons could be umpteen. Now think about this. Is the happiness to be considered real and genuine only when you feel like sharing it with someone? And then you actually go on and share the happiness. Or else, does the happiness wither away? Just dries off the moment you stop thinking about it?

Should happiness be shared? Is it only then that it is real?

Would appreciate your thoughts on this seemingly tricky question. Please do comment...

Tricky question :-) .. initially I started writing an essay style reply, but suddenly thought I can quantify it.

Happiness is real or not real. It can make next person happy or not. 2 variables, two outcomes hence total 4 possible combinations.

If happiness is real and it is making the other person happy, do share it.

If happiness is not real and it is making the other person happy, it depends on you. Sometimes you may like to share just to make someone happy .. sometimes you don't. it depends on your relationship with next person.

If happiness is real but it is not making the other person happy, then better not to share it. You enjoy it yourself. But if the other person is very close to you and you have a feeling that the next person is not going to be happy with this, then you may not be able to enjoy it yourself.

The last case: happiness is not real, and it is making other person sad .. is only required in Ekta Kapoor's serials :) to keep them running for years n years.

Well Said mandar.......

Sir,
Yesterday i was having a sort of debate with a friend of mine on the question to which i did not had an answer.....
It was beyond the horizon of my thinking to answer it.
I am asking this to you probably bcoz i think you can answer this very well, kindly kindly elaborate on the following question:

"IS Love important or Money"

I know that probably you might not believe in love but still respond. I wud appreciate if you give this question a place in your blog.

I will surel respond to your question in detail. But before that, why do you think I do not believe in love! Very curious to know that!! :)

> IS Love important or Money ?

Let me try answering this .. I'll say .. it depends on returns : happiness.

Can we have a new post to discuss this topic ?

Sir, kindly see that it was just a probablity and may not be true, but that was what i felt.
I mean i dont know you that personally and on the basis of whatever bit of it I know you I thought that you Dont Believe in love.

The most eligible bachelor in town mentions his status as single
(in orkut) is quite surprising i must say.

Just kidding Sir,
Dont take it lightly......

He he he he........
Adios.

Hi Mandar..

A really nice way of looking at things...
amazing how u quantified all the probabilities/possibilities..but isn't this a bit one sided? wherein only one person's reaction has been equated?

how does one feel when it is not reciprocated with the same feelings one has shared the moment?
at that point..do u think happiness feels more surreal?...
i'd really like to know ur thots on tht...and ofcourse anyone who is willing to discuss further.

@Avani: Ask the other person to read this blog and think in the same way :)

Why not ? If you r good frnds and understand each other well then "शब्दावाचुन कळले सारे शब्दांचया पलिकडले .." isn't that possible ?

avani said...

@ Mandar...

Logically and practically..good frnds and understanding makes perfect sense..but realistically speaking..it will be a rare existence.
This could be true if and only IF you find the right friend or person you are sharing ur happiness with.. but not necessarily true everytime..as every brain perceives things differently..thts why we hv a saying in sanskrit tht says "tunde tunde..matir bhinna"
but I like the simplicity of ur response..that if one understands each other well..then it will be possible...i totally agree on that.

U No Hoo said...

Avani, what is the meaning of that sanskrit saying?

avani said...

Hi Harry...

That sanskrit saying means "There will be as many opinions as many heads"..no two brains can think alike..

तुन्डे तुन्डे मतिर भिन्ना - is perfect. Thats why we have logical discussions.

But isn't that what I have answered in the first post ? Think about the next person by considering yourself in his/her shoes and decide.

And .. no one is perfect, applying perfection is a recursive process. Error can be modeled as a bell shape curve where the probability of error falls but never reaches zero.
