This was very much repetition of what we are reading, listening, watching (in movies)these days. This concept of "do what you love to" is getting much importance these days. Yet we can't follow it to greater extent, reasons are many.
...don't be serious, can't think of this to impliment (atleast not applicable to me!).
I think these things can be said so casually by people only because they are successful. After getting through school(or any other exams or std.), we all find it very easy, isn't it? Because we are through it. But the first timer or repietor will not be able to have that grip on him/her. As it happens with me, one of my cousins not able to clear his CPT in 3 attempts, I was in first. So he always call me up and try to know so many minute things to be done and not to be done to which i actually never thought, seriously! And i find it difficult to help him, many a times it's dificult to understand whats the need to do so many things, I did very few. But the reason is I was lucky to get through it inspite of less struggle but all can't. Similarly, when I ask my seniors they react same.
Marble and spoon e.g. was good one!
Finally, I feel that the need is to balance things properly. Carrier cannot be less important than all those other things, nor the other way. But both things are equally important.

i agree that its important to maintain a balance...but there are situations where its more important to focus rather than balancing....

well what i think is when it comes to enjoyment, enjoy your life fully but when its time to strive hard, be the first in the race...
otherwise one feels lost on either of the sides....
nad at the end its all subjective and situational in nature.....

@ nik: I'm not talking about the extreme conditions where you need to choose one option as you said, though I buy your point in that. I'm talking about normal life where the balancing is needed, you need to set your priorities based on the situations around you. :)
