In one of my earlier posts, I had cited an instance of how the Maharashtrians in Mumbai have started to feel let down and their privacy being diluted by 'outsiders'. The activities of Raj Thackeray's Nav-Nirman Sena over the weekend has added more weight to my views. Hope it is only a one-off and not emergence of a trend.
I always wonder how a layman Maharashtrian feel about all this? Can they relate to the ideologies and views of these extrimists? Is there supposed to be a differentiation between Mumbai and India?

its indeed irrational. being an maharashtrian i feel i can never relate to their views or rather would never want to support such kind of nonsense.
But is this the feeling shared by everyone you know amoing friends and relatives?
as far as i know yes most of them belive that what these people are doing is not correct. moreover what i feel is we will be witnessing some more nonsense on 14th february.isnt it?
Actually you are right in asking this question..The apparent answer is that no sane person would support such mindless extremism...But yesterday, I actually heard some people in the train supporting MNS's views, saying that much of Mumbai's infrastructural problem is due to the large influx of people from North India...
I have initiated the same question to quite a few of my Maharashtrian friends and beyond my expectations, few of them were not ready to agree that these gimmicks are unwanted. The noise against Big B was surely to attract attention but the reeactions to all this would be felt beyond Mumbai and few political parties.
